Mr. Herbert Larry Palmer affectionally known as "Red" was born to the late Benny Palmer and the late Inez Gentry Palmer on February 28, 1951, in Spartanburg County. He graduated from Foster Grove High School in Spartanburg County, and he later attended then named Spartanburg Technical college. He retired from TeleCable and was previously a member of Holden Chapel Baptist Church.  He was an avid New York Giants fan and a proud veteran soldier of the United States Army.

To cherish his memory he leaves a wife, Cora Anderson Palmer; two daughters, Tammy Battiste of Greensboro, NC and Semeika (Rashad) Steward of Charlotte, NC; four sons, Tony Palmer, Terry Palmer, and Jerrod Landrum all of Spartanburg, SC, and Ereck (Tiffany) Palmer of Chattanooga, TN; three sisters, Pankie Edwards, Lucille Steen, and Lillie Pearl Shaw all of Chesnee, SC; two brothers, Benny Palmer of Spartanburg, SC and Bobby Palmer of Chesnee, SC; a host of grandchildren, and other family and friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Darnell Palmer and a sister Dorothy Palmer.

On August 27, 2021, our Lord relived Herbert Larry Palmer of his earthly duty to report to his heavenly home.
