Herbert Lee Jackson, affectionately known as “Herb,” was born on April 16, 1965, in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Lillie Bell Jackson and and the late James R. Jackson. He was educated in Spartanburg County schools and was a graduate of Dorman High School. Herbert continued his education at Spartanburg Technical College and went on to work for many years as a skilled electrician.

Herb was gifted with his hands and had a natural ability to fix things. His skill as an electrician was not simply his occupation, but a craft in which he took great pride. He also had a deep love for music and treasured time spent with his family. A loyal sports fan, Herb proudly supported the Carolina Gamecocks, and his favorite colors were red and black. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Pauline, SC.

Left to honor his life and cherish his memory are his sons, Justyn (Harmony) Jackson and Joshua Jackson; grandchild, Avery Jackson; sister, Cheryl (Sterling) Jackson; uncles, Earnest Nash, Charles Nash, Deso Nash, Nathaniel (Shirley Mae) Nash, and Curtis (Minnie) Nash; aunts, Minnie L. Peake, Grace Barksdale, and Bessie Davis; special niece, Courtney (Anthony) Jackson; special great niece, Aaliyah Rojas; and a host of other relatives, and friends.

On August 31, 2026, Herbert transitioned from this life. Though his earthly journey has come to a close, the memories he created, the work of his hands, and the love he shared with family and friends will remain a lasting part of his legacy. Herb will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
