Harold Timothy Prater, affectionately known as "Fat Boy", was born December 22, 1969, to Hattie M. Pitts Prater and Harold Prater, in Spartanburg, SC. He was educated in Spartanburg County schools.

Harold was known as "The life of the Party" and had an infectious laugh that would light up a room. He had a very caring and loving demeanor and often stated, "I am who I say I am".  Harold was a Dallas Cowboys fan and his favorite color was blue.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Prater; grandmother, Gracie Moore; and cousins, Janice Smith and Martha Herndon.

Those who remain, including his parents, are sons, Bobby Moore of Riverside, CA, Timothy T. Prater of Los Angelas, CA, and McKale Johnson of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Alvin Prater of Charlotte, NC and James (Miranda) Prater of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Florence Prater and Martha Prater both of Spartanburg, SC; aunts, Minister Martha (David) Miller, Bobby J. Wallace, Debra Prater, Gwendolyn Thomas, and Beverly Johnson all of Spartanburg, SC; uncle, Geddis Suber; grandchildren, Neveah Moore, Sunjay Moore, Saniah Moore and Laniah Moore; mother-in-law, Evangelist Christine Thompson; honorary brothers, Todd Worthy and Johnathan Stewart; cousins, Tonya Murray, Keisha Clark, Sandra Herndon, and James Smith; best friend, Mark Davis and a host of other relatives and friends.

On April 25, 2024, Harold's full life came to a close. His infectious laugh and loving spirit will sorely be missed by all who loved and knew him.
