Franklin Ray Tate, affectionately known as "Razo Blade", was born on July 15, 1960, to the late Mildred Jerleen Moore Tate and the late Franklin Moore, in Spartanburg, SC. He was educated in Spartanburg County schools. Franklin was a gentle and kindhearted individual. He had big heart and loved helping and serving others.
He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by grandparents, Freddie L. Tate, Lannie M. Tate, and Sally Moore and a brother, Bobby R. Moore.
Those who remain include son, Franklin R. Tate, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC; daughters, Tawanna (Desmond) Tate-Hunt, Keshia Tate, and Takeshia Tate all of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Donna D. Lipscomb of Union, SC and Rhonda Tate of Spartanburg, SC; aunts, Mae P. Tate, Daisy J. Tate, Rosemary Carson, Juanita Carson and Patricia Booth; grandchildren, Jermia Sawyer, Jasmaine Sawyer, Jermavis Sawyer, Jermaine Sawyer, Jr., Malaysia Tate, Desmond Sims, Savion McCluney, and Journee Walker; eleven great-grandchildren; special cousin, Charlene Lowrance; best friend, Brenda Petty; special friend, Camilla Watson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
On the afternoon of Monday, September 30, 2024, Franklin transitioned at Magnolia Manor-Inman. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
