Betty Jeanette Darity was born, on January 11, 1962, to the late Blanche Fannie Louise Copeland Wood and the late Raymond Wood, Sr., in St. Augustine FL. She was educated in  Spartanburg County school and was a 1981 graduate of Chapman High School. She went on to get her CNA license from Rutherfordton College.

Betty's biggest love and passion was God. She pursued Him with every fiber of her being. Betty served God and his people with everything that she had. She had an endearing love for family, especially her children. Betty expressed herself with unconditional love.

Betty was a member of Greer Temple Bible Way Church where she held the office of Evangelist. Her favorite colors were pink and purple.

Betty was an active member of a clubhouse group called Worshippers and Intercessors and recently traveled to a conference in Chicago Illinois.

Betty was preceded in death, along with her parents, by siblings, Raymond Wood, Jr. and Rhonda Wood; grandmother, Martha Copeland; and client like a son, Stuart Martin.

She leaves to cherish her legacy of God and faith to son, John Darity of Fletcher, NC; daughters, Jessica Darity of Hendersonville, NC, Kendra Darity of Asheville, NC and Brittany Darity of Fletcher, NC; brother, Randall (Valerie) Wood of Inman, SC; sisters, Angie Wood Miller of Spartanburg, SC and Sheila Wood of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Michael Darity, Miyanna Darity, Karree Darity-Powell, Prince Darity, Graeyson Darity, and Kensley Bailey; aunts, Ethel Durham, Arizona Timbers, and Mary Jane Sams; uncle, Ezell Copeland; special sisters, Gwen Owens, Veronica Jackson, Myra Mason, Denise Thorne, and Mary Ann Childs; and a host of other relatives and friends.

On the evening of Thursday, September 21, 2023, Betty triumphantly laid aside the cares of the world to go home to be with the Lord. She left behind the suffering of this world to receive her "Well Done". We praise God for her life and her love.
