Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Friend

Dorothy Lee Hughes, affectionately known as "Dot", was born on November 22, 1951, to the late O. P. Lyles and the late Mattie Lee Fuller Lyles, in Spartanburg, SC. She was educated in the Spartanburg County schools.

Dorothy had a sarcastic sense of humor and was extremely outspoken.  Although had a curt demeanor she was very sweet and loveable. She was an incredible cook and could make a delicious meal out of anything. In her pastime, she enjoyed watching TV and her favorites shows included any of the soap operas, and Restless, Jerry Springer, and Steve Wilkos. She loved old school R&B music.

She was a member of Harrison Grove Baptist Church.

Dorothy was preceded in death, along with her parents, by siblings, Richard Lyles, Garnell "Bumby" Lyles, John Willie Lyles, and Carrie Lyles.

Dorothy leaves her precious and loving memories to daughters, Kimberly Hughes Haney of Roebuck, SC, and Robin Yolanda Hughes of Boiling Springs, SC; son, Kennedy Ray Hughes of Boiling Springs, SC; brothers, James (Mary) Lyles and Roy Lyles both of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Lerleane Lyles of Lithonia, GA and Jackie Lyles (Scottie) Fowler of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Keosha Haney, Kendrick Walker, Britany Haney, Parrish Walker, Myles Moss, Oscar Haney, Jr. and Mackenzie Hughes; great-grandchildren, Paris Walker, Caden Haney-Jones, Aniyah Logan, Blair Marie Haney-Jones Journee Walker, Mason Moss, Myir Moss, Makhi Moss, and Miraeyah Moss; best friend, Ellen Smith and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
