Mr. Donald Lee Wray, Jr. was born in Spartanburg, SC to the late Alberta Adams and the late Donald Lee Wray, Sr. on January 25, 1974.  He was educated in the Spartanburg County school system.  "Black Jr.", as he was affectionately known, had a passion for watching cooking shows and cooking meals for family and friends.  He also enjoyed a good chess game and playing Domino's.  His favorite colors were blue and black and the NFL Football team was the Carolina Panthers.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories, along with his wife, Tanya Moss-Wray of Spartanburg, SC are daughters, Shakira (Jermaine) Fields, Donica Wray-Martin and Lamesha Wray-Martin all of Spartanburg, SC; son, Donald Dawkins ofSpartanburg, SC; bonus sons, Tre'von Moss and Douglas Moore, Jr. both of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Pamela Denise Wray of Spartanburg, SC and Brandi McJimpsey (Andre) Small of Columbia, SC; brothers,  Anthony (Monica) Wray, Jacoya Wray, Joshua Mc Jimpsey, Carlos (Denise) McJimpsey all of Spartanburg, SC; special cousin, Mary Mance of Spartanburg, SC; bonus mom, Teresa Wray of Spartanburg, SC; mother-in-law, Benni Pearl Simpson of Atlanta, GA; aunt, Dovie Wray of Spartanburg, SC; uncles, Johnny (Alice) Adams, Michael Lipscomb, Carl Lee (Addie) Wray, Jr., James E. Moore, Joseph Wray, Charles (Alzonia) Wray and Edward (Karen) Anderson all of Spartanburg, SC; eight grandchildren; a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Donald was also preceded in death by his grandparents.

On Friday, October 1, 2021, just like in a good game of chess, Mr. Wray checkmated life and he will be a winner forevermore.
