Dennis Leon Terriel was born on December 14, 1957, in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Louise Bryson Terriel and the late John Terriel. He received his education through the Spartanburg County school system and graduated from Ware Shoals High School. Dennis later found employment with Summit Hills, where he faithfully served as a maintenance supervisor.

Dennis was known for an easygoing spirit and an outgoing personality that naturally drew people in. He carried a sense of humor that kept laughter close and conversation lively, never missing a moment to joke and keep others smiling. Regular trips to the barbershop were among his simple joys, along with a deep appreciation for the Pittsburgh Steelers and a fondness for the color blue. He was connected to Macedonia Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by siblings Johnnie M. Keith, Patricia McIntyre, Gloria Terriel, and John Terriel, Jr.

Cherishing precious memories are children, Dennis Devlin of Spartanburg, SC and Kesha Devlin of Greenwood, SC; siblings Johnnie Terriel of New Britain, CT, Gwendolyn Terriel, Patricia McIntyre, Gloria Terriel all of Spartanburg, SC, and John Terriel of Donalds, SC; grandchildren Isaak Jacobson, Amayia Jones, Shauna Devlin, Shayna Devlin, Jakyirah Smith, and Javarion Smith; great grandchildren, Emyrie Tate and Jonova Speach; nephews, John Terriel, Jr. and Reginald Terriel; along with a host of other relatives and dear friends.

On April 2, 2026, Dennis transitioned peacefully at home. His presence will be deeply missed, yet the memories shared will remain a lasting treasure.
