Owen Hines
November 25, 1952 – October 19, 2024
Deacon Lee Owen Hines, affectionately known as "Boot", was born, on November 25, 1952, to the late Julia Elzina Vernon Hines and the late Lee Foy Hines, in Spartanburg, SC. He was educated in Spartanburg County schools. Lee was a forklift driver and machine operator for Concept Packing for many years.
Deacon Hines was a member of Maybry's Temple Church and served on the Deacon's ministry and formerly was on the usher board. He loved riding in his truck "Big Red". Lee also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He delighted in doing church work. His favorite Football team was the Dallas Cowboys and he was partial to color blue.
He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by brother, Willie E. Hines, Sr. and daughter, Kimberly Dawn Muentes.
He leaves a lifetime of love, legacy and hope in Christ to his loving wife of 45 years Mary Lee Byers Hines of the home; daughters, Gwendolyn (Greville) Hines of Vero Beach, FL and Diane (Shaun) Hines of Inman, SC; godson, Irving (Angela) Vernon of Greenwood, SC; brother, Jerry Hines of Inman, SC; sisters, Linda Hines of Spartanburg, SC, Mary J. Hines of Inman, SC, Wanda K. Ray of Spartanburg, SC, and Cynthia Kerns of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Keela Stoudemire, O'Shea Stoudemire, Hazell Stoudemire,Greville Ewar, III Greveria Ewar, Gre'Unna Ewar, Eliza Byers, and Shatiya Hall; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends
On the evening of Saturday, October 19, 2024, with his family at his side, Lee transitioned to his heavenly home. He can now rest from his labor. He will forever be loved, cherished and remembered by his family and friends.
