David Viron Garrett was born, on December 29, 1989, to David Lewis Garrett and Pamela Wray, in Spartanburg, SC. He attended Spartanburg High School. David had a cordial and loving personality. David enjoyed playing basketball and baseball as well as swimming. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys and favorite color was blue. He was a former member of Harrison Grove Baptist Church. He was noted for having a "sweet tooth".

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Alberta Wray, Donald Lee Wray, Sr., William Garrett and Bessie Lee Garrett; aunt, Janice Brown; uncles, Michael Garrett, Donald Lee Wray, Jr., and James Earl Garrett.

Those who remain are his father David Lewis (Angela) Garrett of Spartanburg, SC; mother, Pamela Wray of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Maya Garrett of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Cortez Garrett and Davion Garrett both of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Dasia Garrett of Spartanburg, SC; aunt, Maxine (David Byrd) Garrett of Spartanburg, SC; uncles, Rick Garrett, Randolph (Tamika Copeland) Garrett, and Anthony (Monica) Wray all of Spartanburg, SC; nephew, Draylyn Canty; and host of other relatives and friends.

On the evening of Friday, September 1, 2023, David's life came to a close. He will forever be cherish and remembered by his family and friends.
