David Joseph Bakon was born, on May 10, 1957, to the late Mary Jane Loges Bakan and the late William  "Bill" Bakan, in Dayton, Ohio. He was an outgoing and friendly individual. He loved his family immensely. In his later years moved to Celina, Ohio on the lake. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends at his lake house.

Left to cherish his fond and loving memories are his son, Matthew (Tamara) Bakan of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Jacqueline (Mark) Huelsman of Beavercreek, Ohio;  brothers, Jim Bakon of Miamisburg, OH and Steve (Michelle) Bakon of Dayton, OH; sister, Karen Bakon of Beavercreek, OH; five grandchildren; long time companion, Vickie Young; and a host of other relatives and friends.

On Friday, December 6, 2024, David transitioned at the Spartanburg Medical Center.
