Deacon Darphus Sims was born July 15, 1931 to the late Molly Garner and late Arthur Sims.  Mr. Sims was a faithful member of At His Feet Ministries.  He was a lover of baseball and car racing.  His favorite race car driver was Dale Earnhardt, Sr. who drove car number 3, in the NASCAR circuit.

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to his wonderful and devoted wife of 58 years, Betty J. Sims; four daughters, Mary Ann (Odell) Sloan, Pastor Dorothy Lee Younge, Jean Pilgrim and Barbara Sims all of Spartanburg, SC; two sons, Carl Smith of Pauline, SC and Michael (Nancy) Sims of Spartanburg, SC; three brothers, Pastor James (Odessa) Henderson of Simpsonville, SC, David Henderson and Henry Sims both of Spartanburg, SC; ten grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, great -great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elwillie Gambrell and Mittie Lee Dogan; three brothers, Rosevelt Sims, Tom Henderson and Jackie Henderson.

On Monday, May 24, 2021, Deacon Sims died to the care and keeping of a merciful God.  He is now resting from his labor and leaves a legacy that will forever be treasured in the earth.
