Dareco Javar Jenkins "Big Jim" was born on January 18, 1976, to Sheila Fields and Douglas Jenkins, Jr., in Spartanburg County. Dareco attended Spartanburg High School and played football. He loved his family and had a great sense of humor. Dareco also enjoyed fishing and loved the Lord immensely. He was often heard telling his family "I love you".

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, in addition to his parents, to his son,  Messiah Javar Carpenter Jenkins of Spartanburg, SC; sisters,  Katrina Jenkins of Spartanburg, SC, and Sabrina Jenkins of Charlotte, NC; brother, Conyus Proctor of the home; niece, Kobriana Geter; nephews, Trevion Anderson, JarCony Geter, and Elijah Ross; great nephew, Kartier Carson; special friend, Cartisa Jenkins; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

On the morning of Monday, May 1, 2023, Dareco transitioned at his home. His endearing loving and thoughtful spirit will forever be cherished by all who loved and knew him.
