Cody Michael Pitts

Cody Michael Pitts was born on June 8, 1991, in Spartanburg, SC, to Doris Jackson Johnson and the late Michael Gerome Pitts. He was educated in Spartanburg County School and was a proud 2009 graduate of Byrnes High School.

Cody was known for his warm spirit, infectious smile, and genuine love for people. He possessed a joyful personality and never missed an opportunity to show affection to those he loved. Full of life and energy, Cody brought excitement and laughter wherever he went. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, challenging family and friends to a game of pool, and bowling whenever he had the chance. A devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, he proudly supported his favorite team through every season. His favorite colors were red, black, and white, reflecting the bold and vibrant nature of his personality.

He was preceded in death, along with his father, by his grandparents, Bishop Amos and Mother Gladys Jackson; and his uncles, Charlie Anderson, Daniel Jackson, and J.C. Stroble.

Left to cherish his precious memories and honor his life and legacy are his loving mother, Doris Jackson Johnson; children, Karmeron Miller of Travelers Rest, SC, Khoury Miller of Travelers Rest, SC, Pray'sen Pitts of Spartanburg, SC, Nikorian Pitts of Travelers Rest, SC, Ziley Laney of Union, SC, Ki'Yanah Legg of Spartanburg, SC, and Kenjairah Turley of Spartanburg, SC; grandparents, Warren and Ronay Jackson of Spartanburg, SC; stepfather, Sherman Johnson of Spartanburg, SC; siblings, Nekka Miller, Lisa (Delon) Bigsby, and Sasha Manigan, all of Spartanburg, SC; aunt, Shirley Anderson; uncles, Ronnie Pitts, Raymond Pitts, and Warren Jackson, Jr.; great-aunts, Robay Stroble and Edith Jackson; and a host of other loving relatives, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by his kindness and presence.

On Sunday, June 14, 2026, Cody Michael Pitts peacefully departed this life at Spartanburg Medical Center. Surrounded by the love and memories of those who cherished him, he transitioned from labor to reward, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. While his earthly journey has come to an end, the impact of his life and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
