Cody Boyd

Boyd Perry Cody was born on April 7, 1948, in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Margaret Louise Cody and Walter E. Cody. Educated in Spartanburg County School District Six, he was a proud graduate of Dorman High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served honorably before continuing his education at Spartanburg Technical College, pursuing studies in Industrial Electronics.

Boyd was known for his intelligence, quiet strength, and thoughtful nature. In his younger years, he found great joy in reading and learning, always possessing a curious mind and a deep appreciation for knowledge. His presence, wisdom, and unique personality left a lasting impression on all who knew and loved him.

Along with his parents, Boyd was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Cody.

Left to cherish precious memories of his life are his children, Joshua (Rachel) Cody of Queensland, Australia, and Christina Norton of Spartanburg, SC; siblings, Walter (Melody) Cody of Strawberry Plains, TN, David (Patty) Cody of Pauline, SC, Melinda (Tim) Meredith of Marietta, GA, Bobby (Robin) Cody of Spartanburg, SC, and Gayle (Jeff) Cartee of Pauline, SC; grandchildren, Brook Norton, Felisha Norton, and Noah Cody; sister-in-law, Vickie Cody; a devoted brother by heart, Will Gist; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

On Monday, May 18, 2026, Boyd peacefully transitioned at Spartanburg Medical Center. Though he is no longer with us in presence, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him
