Co-Pastor Barbara
Fisher
October 2, 1962 – December 9, 2024
Co-Pastor Barbara Ann Fisher was born, on October 2, 1962, to the late Rosetta Holmes Richards and the late Lougene Jackson, in Spartanburg, SC. She was educated in the Spartanburg County Schools. Co-Pastor worked many years in hospice care.
She alongside her husband were the founders of Place of New Opportunity Church in Greenwood, SC. Co-Pastor loved God with all her heart and her life's purpose was to win souls to the kingdom of God. She was always on assignment doing the will of her Father in Heaven
Co-Pastor was the embodiment of the Proverbs 31 woman. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was a God-fearing, sanctified, and reverent preacher. She was extremely supportive and talkative. Her favorite colors were red and white. For many years, she was a member of Promise Land COGIC, in Spartanburg, SC, and the church is a member of North Carolina Third Jurisdiction of the Church of God In Christ.
Left to Cherish her faith in God and legacy are her loving husband, Elder Michael Fisher of the home; stepmother, Elicia Word-Jackson; sons, Rocky (Tameka) Watson, Rufus Watson, and Timothy Smith all of Spartanburg, SC; daughters, Cynthia ( Rico) Watson- Rogers and April Posey both of Spartanburg, SC; brothers Eugene (Chelle) Jackson and Michael (Pamela) Jackson of Baltimore, MD; sister, Susan (Aman) Speed of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Cachet Watson, Nyla Watson, Immanuel Watson, Israel Watson, and Enoch Watson; aunt, Bessie M (Frank) Holmes of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
On the morning of Monday, December 9, 2024, Co-Pastor Fisher slept away in Christ. Her love and faith in Christ will be a hallmark of remembrance for all who loved and knew her.
