Clyde Daniel Lee Sims was born, on September 25, 1945, to the late Lydia Rice Sims and the late Henry Sims, Jr., in Spartanburg, SC. He received an associate's degree from Spartanburg Technical College. Clyde served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. He was a loyal and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Clyde was owner of Sim's Lawn and Hauling and his favorite NFL team was the Carolina Panthers.
Clyde embodied a servant's heart, and his life was dedicated to serving and helping others. He was a member of the Chesnut Ridge AME Zion Church where he served in the following compacities: trustee, steward and usher.
He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his wife of over fifty years, Ethel May Campbell Sims; daughter, Deborah Sims; son, Timothy Sims and siblings, Arthur Sims and Dorothy Sims.
Left to cherish his fond and loving memories are his son, Lawrence Sims of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Josephine (Clinton) Oates and Earnestine Sims both of Hackensack, NJ; grandchildren, Sharod (Georgianna) Flucker, Clarence (Ronald) Glenn, Alicia Glenn, Brunashia Gilree, Taunesha Gilree, and Clarence Sims; seven great grandchildren; sisters-in-laws, Nannie M.
