Mr. Christopher Scott Brown, Sr. was born on October 22, 1969, in Spartanburg, SC, to Julia Long and the late Arthur Long and was adopted by Bobbie Brown and the late Henry Brown.  He attended South Florence High School, in Florence, SC.  Mr. Brown was employed at Papa's Breakfast Nook as a cook.

Mr. Brown's family and friends called him by the nicknames, "Scotty" and "Papa Dot."  His favorite past-time was listening to old-school R&B and Hip Hop.  Red and black were his favorite colors.  While talking with Marlon, he would always ask, "You are a man aren't you?  Well, put it there then."

Those left to cherish loving memories, along with his birth mother and adopted mother, are a son, Marlon Brown of Florence, SC; sisters, Sarah Long of Spartanburg, SC and Joyce A. Gary of NC; adopted sisters, Joycelynn Brown of Florence, SC and Maria Bobbie Brown of Florence, SC; brothers, Arthur (Wanda) Brown of Florence, SC, Jerry (Lynne) Brown of Florence, SC and step-brother, Clifford Long of Spartanburg, SC; adopted grandmother, Margarette Garland of Florence, SC; aunts, Ruby Jefferies of Spartanburg, SC and Margaret Jefferies of Spartanburg, SC; grandchild, Sha'Xai Carson Brown-Irby; longtime partner, Jennifer Painter, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Brown was predeceased, along with his birth father and adopted father, by a son, Christopher Scott Brown, Jr.

On October 3, 2022, Mr. Christopher Scott Brown, Sr. heard the call of our master, Jesus Christ.  He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
