Her Life's Journey
Charlean Bridges Clyburn, affectionately known as "Mickey", was born August 27, 1958, to the late Mae Frances Funderburk Bridges and the late Virtus Bridges, in Cleveland, OH. She was educated in the Spartanburg County Schools and a 1976 graduate of Spartanburg High School. She continued her education at the Spartanburg Nursing Academy, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She served as a nurse for over thirty years and retired from Golden Age in Inman, SC.
She was a very talkative and caring individual. She was a great cook and known for her roast beef. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading. Charlean was extremely helpful because of her caring heart she was a caregiver to many of her elderly loved ones. Charlean was a former member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and a current member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church and served on the culinary ministry. Her favorite color was purple.
Charlean was preceded in death, along with her parents, by sister, Sharon Bridges and brother, Tony Bridges.
Left to honor her life's journey include her son, Kenneth Clyburn, II of Spartanburg, SC; former husband Reverend Kenneth Clyburn, Sr.; three grandchildren; special niece reared in home, Bashara Palmer; bestfriends, Michelle Boyd and Reverend Jessica Raley; special cousins, Priscilla Funderburk, Carolyn Lockhart, Gernard Henderson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
On the evening of Monday, December 30, 2024, Charlean's life came to a close. Her loving and kind spirit will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
