Carl Patrick Johnson was born, on March 8, 1959, to the late Essie Bell Nash Johnson and the late Broadus Johnson, in Spartanburg, SC. He was educated in Spartanburg County schools.

Carl was a very nice and caring individual.  He was loved by everyone he encountered. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing video poker games. Throughout the community, he was known as the "Tax Man" because, he prepared taxes for those he was connected to for many years.

Carl was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his siblings, Reginald Nash, Thomas Nash, and Veloy Johnson.

Carl leaves his fond and loving memories to brothers, James A. Nash of Spartanburg, SC and Broadus (Ann) Johnson of Lyman, SC; sister, Dorothy Jones of Spartanburg, SC; special friends, Gerald Hughes and Janice Bobo; god-daughter,  Cephina Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

On the morning of Thursday, September 28, 2023, Carl transitioned peacefully at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Carl will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
