Canda Ann Jackson, affectionately known as “Candy,” was born on May 29, 1956, to the late Willie Hamler and the late Willie David Hamler in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. She was educated in Spartanburg County schools and was a graduate of Spartanburg High School. She later attended Job Corps in Dallas, Texas, where she also graduated.

Canda was kind and loved the Lord. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed decorating and crafting. She was skilled in sewing and had a strong sense of fashion, always taking pride in dressing well and wearing makeup. She was known as a great cook who enjoyed preparing meals for others. She attended Foster’s Grove Baptist Church and Bibleway Tabernacle.

She was preceded in death, along with her parents, by her Brother, Robert Hamler, and her great nephew, Robert Hamler, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Shirley (Jasper) Wofford of Moore, South Carolina; nieces, Shonika (Roderick) Keenan of Moore, South Carolina and Sharon McBeth of Spartanburg, South Carolina; nephews, Charles (Lonzina) Keenan and David Putnam, both of Spartanburg, South Carolina; along with a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

On April 13, 2026, Canda transitioned peacefully at her home. She will truly be missed.
