Brenda Butler

Brenda Faye Butler, affectionately known as “Twin”, was born on October 5, 1957, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the late Ida Ruth Palmer-Gentry and Cornelius Gentry.

She was known for her warm heart and joyful spirit. She found happiness in cooking for her loved ones, spending time with family, dancing, singing, and being around children. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to everyone blessed to know her. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ricky Butler; beloved twin sister, Linda K. Gentry, and her brother, Larry Gentry.

Brenda leaves to cherish her loving memory her sisters: Dorothy Smith, Cindy Sullivan, Katherine (Benjamin) Moore, Vickie (Bobby) Morrow, and Debra (Dennis) Martin; her brothers: Ricky (Angela) Gentry, Willie (Charlene) Gentry, and Johnny Lee Gentry; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

On Sunday, May 10, 2026, Brenda peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. Though she may be gone from our sight, her love and spirit will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.
