IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Ruth
Dover
April 1, 1951 – June 13, 2023
Betty Ruth Dover was born to the union of the late Clarence Dover and the late Virginia Watson Dover, in Spartanburg, SC, on April 1, 1951.
Betty was of the Baptist faith and was a life-long member of the Friendship Baptist Church, until her separation. She was educated in the Spartanburg County school system and graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1951. She was a charitable contributor to the Lupus Foundation, Susan B. Coleman Foundation, and St. Jude Hospital for Children, just to name a few. Betty was very passionate about politics and the Democratic Party. She was a fun and loving person who "told it like it was". She was very caring and giving and would help anyone in need. Betty's favorite colors were earth tones; she loved all kinds of sports and her favorite TV shows were Jeopardy, all soap operas and all survivor shows.
Betty is survived by two sisters, Patricia (Deacon John) Murphy of Moore, SC and Annie Davis of Spartanburg, SC; one uncle, Archie D. Watson of Evanston, IL; one aunt, Loree Watson of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death, along with her parents, by three brothers, Willie Dover, Jimmy Dover, and Edwin Dover.
Betty transitioned at her home on June 13, 2023. She will truly be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Family and friends are being received at the home.
