Bennie Lee Drummond, Jr, affectionately known as "Pookie" was born to the late Dorothy Giles Drummond and the late Bennie Lee Drummond, Sr., in Spartanburg, SC, on October 31, 1963. He was educated in the Spartanburg County school system. Bennie loved to cook and was a chef at Pete's Restaurant. He was baptized at an early age and a was a member of Majority Baptist Church.
Bennie enjoyed watching westerns, news, and any show on Bravo network. On any given day you find him also watching The Young and the Restless. Bennie was a smooth talker and often could be found complimenting the ladies. Bennie was a great singer and enjoyed singing and he also liked animals. He was particular about his appearance; his clothes were always pressed and creased and his shoes were pristine.
He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by paternal grandparents, GennieV and TJ Drummond and maternal grandparents, George and Elizabeth Giles.
Those who remain include: wife, Teresa Evans Drummond of Spartanburg, SC; mother, Joann Mays Drummond of Spartanburg, SC; sons, Terrell Evans of Spartanburg, SC, Marlon Beatty of Boiling Springs, SC, Bennie Lee Drummond, III of Spartanburg, SC, Miles Drummond of Spartanburg, SC, and Denzell Drummond of Boiling Springs, SC; daughter, Ashley Drummond of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Carl L. Drummond of Spindale, NC, Bennie D. Drummond of Spartanburg, SC, Roderick L. Drummond of Spartanburg, SC and Cornelius R. Means of Boiling Springs, SC; sisters, Lisa F. Drummond of Spartanburg, SC, Patrina D. Drummond of Spartanburg, SC, and Rachel L. Means of Woodruff, SC; grandchildren, Taniyah Smith, Aliyah Young, MyKiyah McKissick, Menojah Drummond, and Tre`Quan Norman; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
On Friday, September 6, 2024, Bennie transitioned at his home. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
