IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Audrey Teresa
Thompson
September 28, 1965 – March 4, 2025
Audrey Teresa Thompson was a force of love, laughter, and light. Born on September 28, 1965, in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Lorraine Thompson and McArthur Mack, Sr., she grew up surrounded by family, faith, and an undeniable spirit of joy. She was a proud 1984 graduate of Spartanburg High School and went on to work as a dedicated machine operator at Proterra.
Audrey had a magnetic personality, one that could light up a room with her infectious laugh. She danced like no one was watching, cooked with love, and had a natural eye for decorating. Her sense of style was unmatched and shopping was her therapy, and she always stepped out looking flawless. A die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, she cheered her team on with passion. Her favorite colors were fuchsia and teal.
But above all else, Audrey's greatest joy was her family. She adored her grandchildren, Kinsley and Eli, and cherished every moment she spent with them. Her love knew no limits, extending beyond her family to a circle of friends and play daughters who became family by heart.
Audrey was preceded in passing by her parents, Lorraine Thompson and McArthur Mack, Sr., and her sisters, Betty Thompson and Sharon Manigan.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience, carried on by her devoted daughter, Whitley Thompson of Spartanburg, SC; her brothers, Leroy Thompson and Larry (Karen) Wilson of Spartanburg, SC, and Timothy (Kimberly) Parks of Duncan, SC; her sisters, Marsha Moss and Patricia Manigan of Spartanburg, SC, Yvonne Foster and Brenda Young of Chesnee, SC, and Janice Williams of Spartanburg, SC. She will be deeply missed by her beloved grandchildren, Kinsley Thompson-Rice and Eli Tate; her dear friends, Sherella Jeter and Angela Sibert; and her play daughters, Latrice Burriss, Lovely Moore, Vateechia Mills, and Coricia Dawkins. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, Audrey transitioned peacefully at Spartanburg Medical Center. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will live on in the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the lives she touched.
Rest easy, Audrey. Your light will never fade
