Dwight Anthony Boyd, affectionately known as "June," was born on June 14, 1961, in Spartanburg, SC, to Minnie Lee Boyd. He was educated in the Spartanburg County public school system and graduated from Spartanburg High School.

June was a man whose presence could never be ignored. He will be remembered for his bold and outspoken personality, his strong work ethic, and his unwavering love for his family and friends. Whether sharing a laugh, speaking his mind, or lending a helping hand, June left a lasting impression on everyone privileged to know him.

A skilled brick mason by trade, June dedicated many years to his craft. He took great pride in his work, helping build countless homes, businesses, and other structures throughout the community. His workmanship reflected the same strength, dedication, and integrity that defined his life.

Music was one of June's greatest passions. A gifted singer and accomplished drummer, he shared his talents with several well-known bands, including Total Recall, Funktamental Band, The Enforcers, and Floyd's Passion Band. He was also a former member of the Ebenezer Twilights Choir, where he faithfully used his musical gifts in worship. Whether performing on stage or singing in church, June's love for music brought joy, encouragement, and unforgettable memories to all who heard him.June never met a stranger. His magnetic personality, quick wit, and genuine love for people allowed him to build lifelong friendships wherever he went. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the music he shared, and the love he gave so freely.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Minnie Boyd and Thomas Boyd.

Left to honor his life are his loving mother, Minnie Lee Boyd of Spartanburg, SC ; children, Wendy (Jaquan) Garner of Lexington, SC, Toya Davis, Kodi Davis, Howard Davis, Andrew Sheard, Ray Sheard, and Chris Wallace all of Spartanburg, SC; siblings, Poinventa Boyd, Benjamin Boyd, Mark Boyd, and Deborah Lindsey all of Spartanburg, SC: Grandchildren, Peyton Garner, Parker Garner, Dallas Garner, Nicci Davis, Ta’leyah Lopez, and Jamel Stevens; aunts, Sarah Boyd and Mary Fleming; Nieces, Lareka Geter and Kavia Geter; Nephews, Kendrick (Monica) Geter, Durrell Rice, and Wanya Moultrie; Special cousins, Jermaine Bivings, Nicholas Bivings, Rodney Boyd, Letitia Boyd, Royce Boyd, and Terrell Norris; South Center Street Family; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

On Tuesday July, 21, 2026 “June” transitioned at the Spartanburg Regional Restorative Care. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him
