Ann Dawkins was born, on October 19, 1964, to Nellie Lee Dawkins and the late Arthur Lee Rogers, in Spartanburg, SC. She was educated in the Spartanburg County schools and a graduate of Broom High School. She was previously employed with Wades Restaurant as a cook. Her favorite color was pink.
Ann had an outspoken and direct disposition. She was an amazing cook. Ann was most noted as being a pillar of the community. She often helped others by providing transportation and other assistance to those in need. Ann was member of Limestone Baptist Church and served on the Helping Hands Ministry.
She was preceded in death, along with her father, by her husband, Bobby Joe Gentry and brothers, Roger L. Dawkins and Michael Rogers.
Left to cherish to her fond and loving memories are: her mother, Nellie L. Dawkins of Pacolet, SC; brother, Christopher T. Dawkins of Gaffney, SC; aunts, Pearline (Tommy) Goode of Spartanburg, SC, Aileen (Johnny) Reid of Pacolet, SC, Georgia A. Dawkins of Spartanburg, SC, Paulette Bailey of Spartanburg, SC, Hag Smith of Pacolet, SC, and Poniece Graham of Gaffney; uncle, Edward Dawkins of Spartanburg; great aunt, Annie R. Smith of Pacolet, SC; godchildren, Landon Byrd, Milton McKissick, Jr., Shemaia Byrd and Shanta Byrd; special friend, Frankie Hardy; bestfriends, Elsie McCluney, Thelma Fair, Zenobia Brown and Miss Lynette; and a host of other relatives and friends.
On Tuesday, November 12, 2023, Ann transitioned at the Spartanburg Medical Center. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
