Obituary

With a spirit as boundless as the landscapes he loved, Aden Daashan Kerns, known affectionately as AK, lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, intelligence, and resilience. Born on February 26, 1977, in Newport News, Virginia, Aden's journey led him to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he engaged the world with his signature blend of grit and grace. His heart was as vast as the ocean he loved so much, a testament to his aspirations of becoming a Marine Biologist. He was an avid outdoorsman, a strong swimmer, an enthusiastic hunter, and an explorer of life's many wonders. Aden's professional path also reflected his unique blend of qualities. In addition to being a licensed Optician, Aden was self-employed as an aspiring professional Poker Player at the time of his death. Yet, it was not just in his career pursuits that Aden showcased his smart and resilient nature. He was also an avid motorcyclist, once commenting that it was the thing he loved doing the most. His life echoed the words of Albert Einstein, who said, "Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving." And so, he did, leaving a trail of unforgettable memories in his wake.

Aden now joins his mother, Vivian Inabinett-Ellis, in the realm beyond.  Aden's vibrant spirit lives on in the hearts of his dear father, Tommy Kerns, and his beloved siblings, Romana, Terrence (Sister-in-law, Michelle), Earren Kerns, and Joshua Montgomery.  Others who cherish his memory include his Significant Other, Jolene Pirnie, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a lifelong brother and friend, Farid Amaya.

Many of Aden's closest friendships are rooted in relationships established during elementary school years as he was growing up in Germantown Estates in Germantown, Maryland.

May we find comfort in the shared experiences and stories of a life so beautifully lived. His was a journey marked by an unwavering love for family and friends, a passion for nature, and a dedication to his craft. His love for life was demonstrated through the heroic act of choosing to be an organ donor and giving others a chance at life. Aden Kerns, our beloved "Bone Crusher," your spirit will forever be a beacon guiding us through life's wilderness. You will be missed more than words can adequately express.
