His Life's Journey

David Lewis Boyd was born, on November 7, 1957, to the late Alfred Gallman and the late Myrtle Boyd, in Spartanburg, SC. He was educated in the Spartanburg County Schools and a 1976 graduate of Spartanburg High School. He furthered his education at the University of South Carolina and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.

David was very talkative and never met a stranger. He loved to travel in his spare time. David was a member of Harrison Grove Baptist Church and sang on the all-male chorus. His favorite type of movies were action movies and he was a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

He was a former employee of the Beacon Drive Inn as a car hop.

David was preceded in death, along with his parents, by siblings, Shirley Boyd, Alfred Boyd, and Willie Boyd.

Left to cherish his fond and loving memories are son, William Hardison of Columbia, SC; brother, Donnie Boyd of Stillwater, Oklahoma; sisters, Lillie Ruth Mitchell of Spartanburg, SC and Annette Boyd (Larry) Jefferies of Spartanburg, SC; one grandchild; uncles, Leonard Gallman of Spartanburg, SC, Jimmy Gallman of Baltimore, MD, and Avon Gallman of New York, NY; aunts,  Sara Perrineau, Dorothy Evans, and  Lillie Ruffin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

On Friday, February 9, 2024, David transitioned peacefully at the Chandler Creek Post Acute. He will be missed by his family and friends.
