Mamie Teacora White Pearson was born on March 8, 1943, to the late Elizabeth Rookard White and the late Judson White, in Spartanburg, SC. She was educated in Spartanburg County schools and a graduate of Cummings Street School.
Mamie was an exceptional cook and baker. She was known for her sweet potato pie. Mamie was extremely loquacious and she never met a stranger. She had a very curt disposition. In her spare time she enjoyed watching old TV shows and African shows on YouTube. Her favorite colors were purple and green. She was a member of Upper Shady Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death, along with her parents, by husband Leroy Pearson.
Left to cherish her loving memories include daughters, Elizabeth Pearson of Spartanburg, SC and Angelina (Nicholas Smith) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Shirley White of Lyman, SC, MaKayla Peason of Spartanburg, SC, Treshawn Talley of Conway, SC, Ja’Naisha Rice of Morse Bluff, NE, Joanna Johnson of Spartanburg, SC, Abriella Pearson of Spartanburg, SC, and Inaya Smith of Spartanburg, SC; great grandchild, Darianna Gibson White; stepdaughter, Jennifer White; daughter-in-law, Barbara White; neighbor, Mary Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.
On the morning of March 29, 2024, Mamie transitioned at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
